Laugh!

  1. Are you a fan of the show Supernatural? If not, then you probably don't recognize Jensen Ackles who plays Dean Winchester on the program. I've been watching it since the first season(series, I believe you folks over there call it) and while it's had its ups and downs, it's one of my favorite shows.

The show has a lot of loyal fans and I think a large percentage of the female fan base watch is because of the two hunks, the other being Jared Padalecki, who plays Dean's brother Sam. Both guys are from Texas.

Like many people, I've sometimes wished I was a little more attractive in order to impress the opposite sex (or barring that, richer 'n two foot up a bull's ass) but I've generally been satisfied with the ugly mug my folk's DNA created. That said, if I could look like anyone else, one of my first choices would be Ackles. He's a good lookin' dude.

    1. Hi Mike. Yes I've watched Supernatural from the start. They've changed a lot since it started, notably the deepening of their voices. Soon we won't be able to hear them at all, just a distant rumbling.

      I would choose Dean, too!

    2. To be honest, I watched the first half-dozen (or less) episodes, then grew tired of it. It, like many other successful shows, took a while to get going. A couple of years went by and I still ignored it, then it was on in reruns and I happened to catch Heart, the episode where Sam falls in love w/ the werewolf and then has to "dispatch" her. That really moved me and I later read that both of the actors were genuinely emotional doing the last scene and Padalecki's tears were real. Like so many shows/movies, the soundtrack made it even better, what with Queensrÿche's Silent Lucidity playing during the ending scene.

I never cared all that much for the Charley Sheen show Two and a Half Men, but watched the episodes w/ Emmanuelle Vaugier, the actress who played Madison, the werewolf. She's so pretty.

I have an old school friend I recently re-connected with on Facebook after...well, a long time...and we found out each of us were big Supernatural fans and discuss the show sometimes.

A few yrs. back, a guy I knew had a '67 Chevrolet 4-door Impala for sale, nearly the same as the one(s) in the show, was just a crappy green color and even though it needed some major body work (and interior and motor, etc.) I was going to buy it for $1200 (and thought I could get him off that by a few hundred), but when I went back, the price had been raised to nearly triple what he had been asking for it; he had found out from his visiting daughter - a fan of the show- that the specific model was in hot demand. He put it up for sale online and it sold within a few days.

I saw a funny graphic the other day; it had Harry Potter and some other movie/TV characters who had died, some more than once. "Harry Potter? Died Once." and so forth, then it got to Sam and Dean and Dean was "Bitch, please!"

As much as I love the show, and at the risk of bringing down the wrath of Supernatural fans, I think it's time to start wrapping up the show. It's really been uneven, IMHO...two good shows, a great one, then a stinker or two and on like that through the last few seasons. If they can keep up w/ the quality episodes, I won't gripe,but...

I hope somehow they bring back Crowley's mum, Rowena. She's a great character and is gorgeous, to boot. That's the problem I have with the show, they have killed off not only some of the best villains, but some of the beloved characters, too, such as Bobby Singer.

The guy who played Singer, Jim Beaver, had a couple of small appearances in Breaking Bad and I wished they could have expanded his role in that great series. I've also been watching a new show Colony and Kim Rhodes, who plays Sheriff Jodie Mills, is in it. Well, "was" in it. -grin- I see characters who had been in Supernatural in other things, but I've seldom seen Ackles and Padalecki in anything else, just older stuff.

    3. Bobby was my favourite character, good to see he appears now and then in ghost form. They should wrap it up I agree, it's been a long journey.
